Sara O’Donnell Dip Hyp CS, Adv Prof Dip Psy C.
I am a fully trained advanced Psychotherapeutic counsellor and Relationship therapist. I specialise in relationship counselling working with individuals over the age of 18yrs and couples.
I’m based in Wateringbury just outside West Malling in Kent.
I’m a member and listed on the accredited register of the BACP Counselling Society who abides by the code of ethics in my industry. My advanced diploma is also accredited by AIM Awards and the Royal College of Nursing. I genuinely care about my clients and treat each person who walks through my door as an individual and never impose a “one treatment fits all” approach. You are a unique individual and my commitment is to listen to your challenges, however big or small, and then treat accordingly.
My Promise To Each Client Is:
To listen
To provide professional care and empathy
To offer you a calm and restful space, where you will be supported through your transformation
To bring caring, compassion and non-judgement to whatever challenge you are experiencing
If needed, to safely support you through crisis to the other side
To help you have more meaningful connections in your life
To enable you to feel joy again and feel excited by all the possibility and potential in your life.
I do all of this in a relaxed, comfortable and safe environment and work out of a beautiful, private cabin located in my secluded garden, called The Therapy Cabin. This spacious and tranquil space is the perfect place for privacy and relaxation. There is also free off-street parking and air conditioning.
Why I Chose to Become a Therapist and my approach
Caring for others has always been a natural part of who I am. Even long before I trained as a therapist, people would often come to me for support, comfort, and guidance. I’ve often been told that I have a calming presence—that I’m a good listener, and that being around me makes it easier for people to feel safe, relaxed, and open.
I chose to become a therapist because I’m passionate about walking alongside people through life’s challenges with empathy, understanding, and compassion. I believe that, at our core, we are all good people. But life can bring pain, trauma, and hardship that shape our behaviours in ways we don’t always consciously understand. These unconscious patterns are not who we are—they are responses to what has happened to us. We are not our behaviours; we are human beings, deserving of care and healing, of meeting our needs, emotional and physical. To show up fully to life and express who we truly are and feel complete.
One of the most meaningful parts of my work is supporting you as you begin to release the burdens that have been affecting your emotional well-being, your relationships, your health, and your sense of self. Working on the past to present a more positive and confident future. The past no longer will keep presenting in the way it has, your new story will emerge and your old narrative reframed to one that serves you a better future.
Through my own therapy, I reached a place of acceptance, self-understanding, and confidence. My relationships changed. My nervous system rewired. I felt lighter, more connected with myself and able to enjoy life in a way I hadn’t before. My old negative story was transformed into one that now supports the life I want. I learnt to hold myself with warm regard and begin to love who I was.
My heartfelt intention is for every person who walks into The Therapy Cabin to leave feeling lighter, more supported, and gently hopeful about the road ahead.
