Can anyone respond to hypnotherapy?
The short answer is yes. Hypnosis works for the majority of people. However, the most important part of all this is a)to be fully committed to the process and b) feel like you can place your trust in me. If you can manage to do this, then almost anyone can be hypnotized provided you want to be. But, it’s important you keep an open mind as any scepticism or doubt may affect the process.
As with anything in life, the people who get the best results are those who are determined to achieve their goals!
What is the difference between Responsive Hypnotherapy and normal hypnotherapy?
Responsive hypnotherapy is a new, more advanced form of hypnotherapy that doesn’t rely on using pre-written scripts – which can be a bit of a one-size fits all approach.
Whereas traditional hypnotherapy comes under the assumption of “making someone change”, responsive hypnotherapy allows you to make the change yourself, so leaving you far more empowered as a result.
Responsive hypnotherapy gets faster and deeper rooter results because the change comes from within you, rather than suggested by someone outside of you.
What does hypnotherapy feel like?
This is a bit like trying to describe a ball of string! But here’s an analogy for you – it’s a bit like those moments when you get lost in thought when you’re driving, or doing a meditative task, and then you come to and wonder where your mind has been! That’s the closest way I can describe what hypnosis actually feels like.
It’s important to remember that even though your eyes will be closed, you will not lose conscious awareness, so this means you’ll be able to hear and sense things around you. You’ll be in a state of comfortable relaxation and your breathing will slow and your muscles will relax. It’s not uncommon for people to report feeling a pleasant sense of inner peace.
What will happen in my first hypnotherapy session?
After your free consultation where we will talk about your current issue, should you wish to continue we will determine the best way forward – this might be a series of on-going sessions or one of my packages.
Regardless of whether you book a series of sessions or opt for one of my packages, in our initial time together we will discuss your desired outcome, and I will ask a few questions to get a better understanding of your history. This might be information such as your sleep patterns, medical symptoms and so on. This process is designed to make you feel comfortable, relaxed and safe.
We work together to unlock your unconscious mind to find the answers. I will talk to your unconscious mind and you will respond to me as we go through the hypnosis session together. I am holding the space and directing you. Then we can re-wire some new neural pathways into your subconscious mind to free you of unwanted patterns and behaviours you no longer want.
I never use deep trances. Unlike ‘old style’ hypnotherapy I don’t suggest things or tell you what to do. You are able to create the changes yourself – you see, sense and live those changes. I come from the belief that self-generated changes are much more powerful than planted suggestions.

What if my problem is embarrassing?
Firstly, be reassured that I am there to listen with compassion and professionalism regardless of your issue. To be honest, quite often people come to see me and feel embarrassed about the nature of their problem but you don’t need to be! It’s always surprising just how many people share the same fears or issues and believe me, you won’t be the first and you certainly won’t be the last feeling the way you do.
And finally, please be assured that everything you say to me will be in the strictest confidence and will never leave our session.
How many sessions will I need?
This is one of those impossible questions to answer as each person I see has their own unique set of issues and challenges. As I prefer to treat the person as an individual, rather than one treatment fits all, it is hard to say how many sessions you might need until I see you.
For example, I might see two completely different clients who demonstrate similar surface symptoms, but for one person they might need 2 sessions and the other might need 4.
During your free consultation, I will let you know how many sessions you might need and I will be as flexible as I can to best meet your individual circumstances.
How long will the hypnotherapy session last?
My one-off packages like my my Beat Low Self-Esteem Package last anything from 1.5 hours first session to 3.5hrs.
A general hypnotherapy session lasts 1 hour.
Can you guarantee results?
To give a guarantee would mean me making false promises or claims and this is something I am loathe to do as I prefer to treat each client as an individual. In truth, each and every one of us is so different from the next and there are so many variables at stake so making wild promises that it will work for everyone is beyond my control. What I can say is that the people who turn up committed and having faith in the process, almost always get a successful outcome.
